The
profile of people entering the Drug and Alcohol Program
is largely people who have a chemical dependecy problem,
and demonstrate a need for a more structured clean and
sober living environment. People fitting this criterion
are required to enter our 90 day 12-Step Based program.
In
addition to chemical dependency, common challenges facing
these people include lack of knowledge as to where and
how to obtain needed social services, poor or non-existent
credit histories, and, in many cases, prior criminal
records. Historically, these challenges have often stood
in the way of these people breaking out of the "revolving
door syndrome," causing them to return to their
old neighborhoods and chemical dependency habits.
Through
our program, these people are put in contact with the
social service support they need, while being able to
search for employment with diginity, knowing they have
a roof over their heads and a clean and sober place
to live. Assistance is given to them in finding a job
and helping them move to permanent housing upon graduation
through our Rental Repair Program.
