FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (April 9, 2004) OSC/One Step Closer, Inc. will partner with Healthcare Connect to assist its program recipients in obtaining affordable healthcare insurance. It will cover all ages, even the elderly (65+) that don't qualify for Medicare.

The enrollment period will last for one year. Enrollment fees are fifty dollars per member per year. If the household consists of two or more family members, the annual fee will be $100 per year. Citizenship is not required and only residents living in Maricopa County will be served.

Healthcare Connect offers doctor and special visits, hospital stays, radiology and laboratory services; discounts on prescriptions and transportation to medical services.

This program is also available to area business owners seeking to provide healthcare benefits for themselves and their employees who qualify. The screening process takes only a few minutes, utilizing a Web-based electronic screening tool called Health-e-Arizona. The system can also track billing and collections made to participating and non-participating providers.

OSC/One Step Closer, Inc. believes this is a unique opportunity to offer its program recipients because many support a household of two or more, and cannot afford the high cost of healthcare.

OSC/One Step Closer, Inc.'s collaborations provide support to people looking for employment and to encourage education. Training is offered by most of the collaborators. The courses you will take is determined by an "as needed" basis. Some programs require a fee, but there are several programs that provide financial support.
